Black Sherif wins court case against his landlord.

The High Court (Commercial Division) has ruled in favour of internationally acclaimed Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif in the case of Shadrach Owusu Agyei Vrs. Mohammed Ismail Sherif, bringing his legal dispute with former management firm Charvis Wayne’s Consult to an end.

Delivering judgment, Her Ladyship Justice Afia Adu-Amankwa dismissed the bulk of claims against Black Sherif, finding that key allegations were not supported by evidence.

The Court held that although a management agreement existed, claims of revenue retention, unaccounted earnings, construction works, and other losses were unproven, and that the Plaintiff failed to properly account, perform contractual duties, or mitigate losses.

While a technical breach was found due to Black Sherif’s engagement with a third party, no substantial loss was shown, leading the award of nominal damages of GH¢50,000 and legal costs of GH$ 15,000, with all other demands dismissed.
