IGP Directs CID Headquarters to Take Over Investigation into Attack on NAIMOS Director and His Team at Hwidiem
Asutifi North MP Invited to Assist in Investigation
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has directed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters to assume responsibility for the ongoing investigation into an attack on the Director of the National Integrated Monitoring and Oversight System (NAIMOS) and his team at Hwidiem in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.
This directive comes after reports of an alleged assault on the NAIMOS officials while they were carrying out their lawful duties in the area. The incident has drawn public concern, prompting the IGP to ensure a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation.
As part of the investigative process, the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North has been invited by the police to assist with the inquiry. Authorities have assured the public that due process will be followed and that justice will be served without fear or favor.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to upholding law and order, safeguarding public officials, and ensuring that incidents of violence and intimidation are dealt with decisively.
